About Marisa Silver, MS, RDN

Hello! I’m Marisa Silver, a registered dietitian who founded Vivrant Nutrition to help you feel good now and prevent disease later.

I completed my undergraduate education at Northwestern University. Nutrition became my passion after eight years of working in public relations for healthcare companies, including Regeneron Pharmaceuticals. At work, I discovered that healthy eating was a missing link for the chronically-ill patients my company served.

I completed my dietetic internship at NYU Langone and my M.S. in Clinical Nutrition at New York University, which included four years of medical nutrition education and a year of hospital rotations. I have also spent years working with diverse patient populations in various clinical and private practice settings, including:

  • NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, where I educated patients on the cardiac unit

  • Weill Cornell Comprehensive Weight Control Center, where I worked with patients with obesity and other co-morbidities

  • Center for Discovery, a residential farm in upstate New York that uses food as medicine to help children with neurological conditions

  • Culina Health, where I counseled adults and children in private practice for a range of conditions, including obesity, diabetes, and gastrointestinal disorders

  • Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami, where I was part of an interdisciplinary team to prescribe and manage medical ketogenic diet therapies for children with epilepsy

I’ve had success in clinical practice using food as medicine, and these experiences have shaped my nutrition philosophy. When individualizing nutrition for my clients, I focus on foods that are nutrient-dense, minimally processed, low in sugar, practical and enjoyable. I’ve seen firsthand that when these five components come together, food has the power to transform your health.

I am based in Miami and spends summers in New York with my husband and one-year-old son.
